As Heart and Capital are both owned by Global, I sometime get to dabble and work Capital shifts too.
Therefore the other day when my boss text me asking if I wanted to work a Little Mix album signing for Capital I couldn’t refuse.
However when I came to work and am asked to talk to the news team to discuss my interview with Little Mix I am rather complexed!
I thought I was just taking photos and handing out sweets at the album signing promoting the Jingle Bell Ball, no no my boss has sorted for me to interview the girls about what they think about Xfactor and the run up to Christmas. Where I meet them, come up with my own questions and interview them before the signing!
So we drive up to HMV where the signing was taking place, where a queue of girls were waiting eagerly with the new album and vast amounts of merchandise, I just casually stroll past, pick up a press pass and I’m introduced to the girls as “Rachel from Capital” which I’m not going to lie felt wicked! Thus reassuring me that being in radio and interviewing people is something no doubt I will make part of my future!
So after a couple of minutes of asking the girls questions about Christmas which is apparently the girls favourite time of year, and are buzzing for, of course their favourite colour Christmas decorations was my main concern, and general chit chat about the XFactor. I get a photo with the rest of Capital Street Stars, and go back to my normal job promoting the Capital radio station, which was the strangest thing as I know all their fans are queuing up for just a signature, not even a photograph, and I have just casually gone and interviewed them for an FM radio station!!

Overall wicked shift, where I got to do way more than expected.
LOVE MY JOB
