This week has been very busy, not only have I been working on my Dissertation and my Final Project but I attended this year’s SRA Conference in Newcastle.
After attending the conference in first year, I knew I wanted to come back in my final year and make the most of the opportunities offered to me. Therefore as soon as we arrived in Newcastle (after a six hour Megabus) I went to one of the ‘make shift studios’ and recorded a voice over for ‘The Voice The Awards. Over 150 people entered the competition, and ended up getting whittled down to 6 boys and 6 girls, of which I was one of the shortlisted individuals! After re-recording the script with Capital & Capital Xtra’s Chris Nicolls.
I was over the moon to find out the following day that I was a winner, and will be recording the V.O for The SRA Awards in 2014.
I also entered Demo Factor this year, with over 65 entrants I seriously didn’t expect my demo to get played. I was wrong. It was the first to be played! Where I received a positive response about my voice and energy, however clearly the judges aren’t fans of Snapchat, so were not keen on the content. But on wards and upwards there are plenty more demos to be made!

After lots of note taking and chumming fellow radio students it was time to go home and prepare for the SRA Chart Show, which I presented on behalf of Scratch today.
So yeah today I presented my first ever chart show, which was very different to the format of show I normally present, but luckily with Producer Carl Bennett by my side, despite me saying the wrong numbers once or twice we pulled it off!

So one busy, student radio filled week. Now to get a job!
