“Started from the bottom now we’re here”

I’d like to say I didn’t actually break into song with this but in fact sadly I did!

Last year at Fusion I had a fantastic time helping the Capital Street Stars taking photos of the public and promoting the highlights show on the Monday after the festival. This year however I was on the online team helping out on social media and uploading the Streetstar photos to Gusto (for the website).

Despite being on the online team.. I didn’t even take a successful selfie! #Fail

It really was a brilliant weekend especially as on Sunday it was so sunny and it definitely seemed liked the celebs wanted to be in the Capital area, as clearly more fun with the guys in blue!

It was definitely a successful weekend as my phone battery died over three times a day due to the sheer volume of retweets and replies we were receiving on Twitter on both Dan and Katy’s account and Sacha Brooks’. We tweeted photos and cheeky teases of what was happening backstage and even had some of the artists replying to us. Including Connor from the Vamps’ tweet which received 1717 retweets in response to a tweet Ben wrote about the band playing on Capital’s High Riser!

In total I uploaded 600 Street Star photos from the weekend and online we reached an audience of nearly 15k audience actions over the weekend which is AWESOME as I think last year they were at the the 3k mark. That means 15 THOUSAND people interacted with @danandkaty in some way. Whether it be a tweet, RT, or favourite. Which is pretty cool to say I was apart of making happen!

The highlights have to include managing to grab a photo of some of the artists on the Capital director chair and grabbing a cheeky selfie with Nina Nesbitt!

So yeah long blue twitter story short, was a wicked weekend and I can’t wait for the next big event Global has to offer!
