Back in March at the SRA Conference in Newcastle I auditioned to become the female voice of the SRA Awards and I won!
So a few weeks ago I went to my favourite place… Global HQ in London!
Here I met Chris Nicolls the Imaging Producer for Capital who recorded and coached the voice overs with me. When I first got there he offered me a glass of water, I politely declined before realising I would need that water! After an 15 minutes I quickly changed my mind and went for the water.
After an hour of going through the script with Chris and I was done. It was so much fun and really interesting learning about different techniques to vary the tone in your voice.
On Thursday was the SRA Awards, not only was I excited to hear my voice over but three members of Scratch Radio including one of my friends Ella were nominated for awards. It was a fantastic evening with great food, entertainment and of course a cracking voice over from yours truly. Which I will admit every time I heard myself I got rather excited (lame I know but shh).
It was great to see a range of industry professionals at the event including Richard Park and Ashley Tabor from Global. It soon became apparent what a geek I am for Global as I kept cheering very loudly when people from Global were talking.
The good news was that Scratch bagged a Gold award for best Journalistic Piece and Ella won a Silver Award for best interview!
All I can say is that if the night doesn’t fuel you with passion and adrenaline to reach your dreams I don’t know what will, as it definitely did for me!
