On the show we quite often have guests popping in from time to time to either perform Live InThe Cwtch or come in for a chat, which I absolutely love. One of my first ever interviews was when I was at University in Birmingham working on the student station and I got to interview John Newman. He was on tour with Rudimental and had not yet released any solo material, so when he ‘blew up’ it was my claim to fame “this one time I interviewed John Newman and I asked him what he put on his toast”.
Fast forward five years and John Newman is on The Big Welsh Wake Up. So naturally we played him a clip of our first meeting and it was all types of cringe.
We also had a bit of fun with John surrounding his new single ‘Fire In Me’, we wanted to see if we could put the fire in him, please excuse the pun (Taking inspiration from James Corden’s Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts). We asked John Newman three questions that he may not necessarily want to answer and if he didn’t he had to take a TABLE SPOON OF TOBASCO SAUCE!
